Out of all the games that are releasing next month, one of the most exciting is CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077. From what the developer has shown us about the game via its various Night City Wire live episodes, Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot going for it. Fans learned about the game's futuristic open-world, RPG elements, gameplay, weapon variety, life choices, gangs, and much more. However, many of the game's core features like the world map haven't been released during any of the Night City Wire episodes. For those who have been wondering about the scale of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077, a recent leak seemingly suggests that Night City is quite expansive.
It seems that the leaked items are part of Cyberpunk 2077's bonus content, which includes the Night City map and postcards. While fans may not be all that interested in the postcards, they'll surely want to know about Night City. The leaked map reveals the district names that make up Night City, including Watson, City Center, Westbrook, Heywood, Santo Domingo, and Pacifica.
In the previous Night City Wire episode, CD Projekt Red revealed that Night City is divided into six districts, which are further divided into sub-districts. Furthermore, the exploration of Night City isn't just limited to the main roads and streets. Almost every tall building is completely explorable. The game's level designer, Miles Tost, stated that Night City has been inspired by the real-life geography of California. In a previous episode, players also learned about the gangs of Night City, who exhibit their dominion on the city's districts. Although players can interact with these gangs and accept quests, they cannot join a gang themselves.
In other news, it was also revealed that CD Projekt Red announced a studio-wide crunch time until Cyberpunk 2077's release. Many fans were concerned about the developer's decision, with some fans even suggesting to delay the game. CD Projekt Red hasn't responded to the reactions from fans.
Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing on November 19 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game is also being developed for Stadia, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
