The next Harry Potter-inspired movie will jump across the pond (and back in time) for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them , but don’t rule out a return of The Boy Who Lived. In a recent interview with the Radio Times, Daniel Radcliffe, who is currently starring in Swiss Army Man, claimed he could be persuaded to reprise his iconic role. Take a look at what the actor said below:
“It would depend on the script,” Radcliffe said. “The circumstances would have to be pretty extraordinary. But then I am sure Harrison Ford said that with Han Solo and look what happened there! So I am saying, ‘No,’ for now but leaving room to backtrack in the future.”
Well well well, Mr. Radcliffe. Looking to Harrison Ford it up, eh? Does this mean we’ll reunite with Harry later in his life when he is a father, only to see him die in a “shocking” twist ending? Perhaps. J.K. Rowling’s final epilogue didn’t make it that far, at least in terms of Harry’s death. The infamous wizard definitely has kids with Ginny Weasley and names one of them after Snape! I’m seeing the Anakin Skywalker connection already.
Rowling is likely busy making some last minute script changes to Fantastic Beasts and the upcoming London-based play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Coincidentally, the latter, which is the eighth official installment in the Harry Potter book series, centers on Harry’s youngest son, Albus Severus Potter. It goes without saying that *he* is the cursed child. Kylo Ren much??!
Radcliffe is smart to leave the door open. A Harry Potter sequel movie would make a TON of money at the box office while presenting a fresh challenge for an aged Radcliffe. Right now, it’s all a mere possibility, but you never know. We’ll be sure to update you if we ever do.
In the meantime, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters Nov. 18.
