The first details on Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City, the game’s second and final expansion, are out now, courtesy of a new trailer from Bandai Namco and FromSoftware. As usual, we don’t get much in the way of hard data from our first look at the Dark Souls 3 DLC. But this week’s Ringed City reveal trailer does suggest we’re in for a longer ride than fans encountered when Ashes of Ariandel debuted last year.
Given how sensitive the Dark Souls community is to spoilers -- not that we’re judging, discovery is admittedly half the fun of the series -- we’re going to forego any significant descriptions of the trailer here. It shouldn’t surprise anyone to hear the next Dark Souls expansion will introduce a new area, new bosses and new enemies. The latest addition to Dark Souls 3 certainly seems to be themed appropriately, given this is expected to be the last we see of the franchise for quite some time, and the accompanying video description confirms The Ringed City will also include new armor, items and magic for players to collect.
For your first look at Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City, take a couple minutes to watch the new announcement trailer (embedded up top) from Bandai Namco and FromSoftware. Then head down to the comments section and let us know what you’re hoping to see in the next round of Dark Souls 3 DLC when it heads to PC and consoles in March.
Dark Souls 3 is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game’s final expansion, The Ringed City , is in development for all three platforms and debuts March 28.
