DC Comics has decided to switch things up. Maybe it was time for a fresh start, or maybe they needed to shed all association from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Either way, a new DC logo is here and it’s… okay, I guess. Take a look:
The DC logo makes it debut with the release of DC Universe: Rebirth Special #1. From there, the logo will make its way to the rest of DC’s digital platforms, including social media, official websites and entertainment properties (i.e. movies).
"DC is home to the greatest Super Heroes and Super-Villains, and the new logo has the character and strength to stand proudly alongside DC’s iconic symbols," DC Entertainment Senior VP of Marketing and Global Franchise Management Amit Desai said in a statement (via IGN ). "The launch of the new logo is the perfect tribute to DC’s legacy, exciting future and most importantly, our fans."
DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns said he’s "very proud that Rebirth will be the first comic book published with the new DC logo," while adding that Rebirth and the logo "are built on what's come before while looking to what will come tomorrow."
