October is the month of horrors, scares and everything terrifying in between – which is the perfect release time for the newest port coming to the Nintendo Switch.
In a tweet from the official Nintendo of America Twitter page, the company confirms that Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical horror title, Dead by Daylight, is coming to the Nintendo Switch on September 24, which is just in time for the month of Halloween. Check out the official tweet below.
Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where one player plays as an unstoppable Killler against four others, who play as Survivors. The goal of the Killer is to, well, kill them all, while the Survivors do their best to hold out, survive and successfully escape the Killer’s clutches. The game was first released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms, and to this day it remains a staple on Twitch, due to how enjoyable the gameplay is.
More information can be found on the Nintendo eShop page for Dead by Daylight which is right here. Looking over the in-game screenshots, it seems that there’s a noticeable graphical downgrade, but then again, the fact that a title of this caliber got ported to Nintendo's console is an amazing feat. According to the page, the port was also handled by Behaviour Interactive, which makes it even more surprising that no other outside developer was needed to handle it. The info page also states that the Switch version will include nine Killers and 10 Survivors to choose from right off the bat. Dead by Daylight is updated quite regularly with new content, including Killers and Survivors from existing horror franchises – except for Jason Voorhees, who’s in a separate title all by himself, called Friday the 13th: The Game.
This news of the upcoming port follows on the heels of the official reveal of the next Killer for Dead by Daylight: Ghostface, from the Scream series. Ghostface was previously leaked during a patch that was not handled properly, so players were already made aware of his inclusion in the title even before today. Behaviour did include a trailer this time, though, which you can watch below.
Dead by Daylight arrives on the Nintendo Switch on September 24, 2019. It’s available to play right now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
