Team Ninja officially released update 1.03b for Dead or Alive 6. In particular, the update adds Lobby Matches to all versions of the game.
Regarding the Lobby Match, Team Ninja said that they plan to add more features and reveal the details once they are confirmed.
The update also adds a feature to the PC version in order to automatically change the graphics settings during online matches. This is to prevent any delay when fighting.
Released March 1, Dead or Alive 6 is considered to be more graphically violent compared to the previous titles in the series. The gameplay is more polished, with the sweat effects first introduced in Dead or Alive 5 making a return. This time around, they are even more pronounced.
One positive move featured in Dead or Alive 6 is making the fighting game more accessible for new players. A new mechanic dubbed as Fatal Rush was introduced which allows a character to perform a simple combo when a player presses a single button multiple times.
However, one criticism was not having a lobby mode for its online offerings. This update appears to answer that issue and players have been happy with the change.
Since its release, there have been three updates so far for Dead or Alive 6. In addition to the usual aesthetic changes, Ver 1.01 added Throwdowns and a rematch option to Ranked Matches. This was released on March 1. By March 15, Ver 1.02 was released, which brought about balance adjustments to the game while adding in the DOA6 Happy Wedding Costumes Vol.1.
Ver.1.03/1.03a was added towards the end of March, which brought in the DOA6 Happy Wedding Costumes Vol.2. The update also added a functionality where players can now buy additional content from the Wardrobe. A feature was added as well to the costume pattern part distribution in DOA Quest. This allowed players to re-acquire parts by using a new drawing method. In addition, the update also adjusted the drawing method of awarded costume pattern parts in DOA Quest and also the response in case of exceeding necessary quantity.
A Dead or Alive 6 World Championship is scheduled later this year to be held in Tokyo with a prize pool of $30,000.
