Earlier this week at San Diego Comic-Con, famed developer Hideo Kojima gave fans a treat when he revealed the box art for his upcoming game, Death Stranding. Alongside friend and film director Nicolas Refn, Kojima revealed a lot of interesting points about Death Stranding. In the reveal, he showcased the box art for the game, as well as the cover art for the Steelbook included in the special edition.
Following the panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Kojima also revealed the box art and Steelbook art in a post on Twitter. Shown below, both the box art and Steelbook cover depict Death Stranding's main character, Sam. In Death Stranding, Sam's character is voiced and modeled after actor Norman Reedus, who gained fame and acclaim for his role as Daryl Dixon in the hit TV show, The Walking Dead.
Apart from the box art reveal, Kojima also showcased the limited-edition life-sized BB Pod statue that players can acquire by purchasing the Death Stranding Collector's Edition valued at $200. The showcase was also accompanied by a short anecdote from Kojima telling the story of how U.S. Customs kept him from coming into the United States because of said statue.
Death Stranding is one of the most highly-anticipated titles of 2019, which is unsurprising considering it's being developed by one of the most celebrated game developers of all time. Widely regarded as a genius of the gaming industry, Kojima is the mind behind some of the most popular and well-known video game franchises of all time, including Metal Gear.
Death Stranding is officially scheduled to launch on November 8 as an exclusive title for PlayStation 4, but there are rumors flying around that the game will also launch on the next-generation PlayStation 5.
