Sony Interactive Entertainment has finally released some details about Death Stranding, which is the brainchild of noted game director Hideo Kojima. Apart from the official release date and brand new trailer, a collector’s edition was also revealed. Interestingly, it is going to include a keychain, a slew of in-game items, and a BB pod with a life-size baby. Oh, yes, that is absolutely right!
Collector’s editions are known for offering a hefty bundle, which has been the narrative in recent years. But as far as Death Stranding is concerned, the game wants to put a whole new twist on proceedings. When the highly anticipated PS4-exclusive arrives on November 8th, its Collector’s Edition will include a life-size “bridge baby” pod, among other things. It is the perfect prop to creep out your friends, especially those who have no idea what the game is about (that is to say, all of us).
Given the sheer size of the “bridge baby” pod, it is definitely something you do not want to decorate in your office. But hey, who knows? It might just be your lucky charm!
In the game, the true nature of these babies in pods is relatively unknown. Players take the role of Sam Porter Bridges, played by Walking Dead superstar Norman Reedus. As seen in the trailers, Sam tends to tuck babies around him as he tries to build “strands” with other players across the globe. The latest trailer for the game can be seen below:
The new trailer is pretty much like its predecessors. If anything, the game is really hell-bent at offering players open-world gameplay. It is a mystery, though, as to how exactly this open-world element will affect the overall gameplay of the game.
Also, the new Death Stranding trailer has revealed other cast members, such as Margaret Qualley, Lea Seydoux, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Nicolas Winding Refn. Of course, Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo del Toro are also part of the upcoming title, with their first appearance dating back to the original trailer.
Death Stranding will offer a digital deluxe edition and special edition, with the former focusing on digital goodies. Kojima’s game is slated to arrive on PS4 come November 8th.
