Deathloop’s player count is about to get a major boost in the next few days. The award-winning game by Arkane will release for Xbox Series X|S on September 20.

An Xbox port for the former PS5-exclusive title was inevitable, as the game is now fully owned by Microsoft. Plus, the one-year exclusivity deal with PlayStation came to an end today.

Cross-Play

Subscribers of Game Pass (PC and Xbox) or PlayStation Plus (Extra or Premium) will be able to play Deathloop on Day One for no additional cost. The game will feature cross-play support, meaning you can play with your friends, irrespective of platform. You will have the choice to turn off cross-play matchmaking in the options menu.

Cross-Save and Cross-Purchase

That’s not all though, Deathloop will support cross-save and cross-purchase between Microsoft platforms. You can play the game on PC and Xbox, thanks to cross-save support, assuming that you purchased the title via Microsoft Store. You won’t get this feature if you bought the game via Steam.

Goldenloop Update

The developer also announced a massive update for the game. The Goldenloop Update will go live on all platforms on September 20. It will bring tons of new content including an extended ending.

New Ability: Fugue

The newly added ability will throw a projectile that confuses and slows down enemies. There will be four available upgrades for it:

  • Coda: Extended duration.
  • Earworm: Cast a Fugue “mine” on a surface.
  • Discord: Target becomes hostile toward its allies.
  • Syncopation: On target’s death, Fugue affects nearby enemies.

New Weapon: HALPS Prototype

A new weapon called HALPS Prototype will be introduced in a few days. It is an energy-based rifle that fires a continuous laser-like beam. Firing the weapon at a turret or security camera will refract the beam and hit your enemies.

The Goldenloop Update also brings a new enemy, ability upgrades, and 19 new trinkets. You can read about them in great detail by visiting the official site.
