Since the incredibly successful open beta launch in December, "Delta Force" has swept through the gaming world. Its multiplayer mode is something that fans of FPS are really enjoying on Steam, but it's really building up for the much-awaited "Black Hawk Down" campaign, a paid DLC inspired by the 2001 war movie and the classic 2003 video game.
The campaign, initially delayed, is now confirmed to be launching very soon.
Mark your calendars as the DLC will drop on Feb. 20.
New Chapter in 'Delta Force's' Legacy
Delta Force's multiplayer mode has received much praise thus far, all thanks to the solid visuals and intense gameplay. However, when the single-player "Black Hawk Down" campaign is thrown into the mix, the game will take an entirely new turn.
The "Black Hawk Down" campaign, developed by Team Jade, promises to be a gripping, realistic story that allows for both solo and co-op gameplay, PCGamesN writes in its report.
It was inspired by Ridley Scott's great war movie and all the best ingredients of the 2003 game "Delta Force Black Hawk Down," which was also a game event entitled the infamous "Battle of Mogadishu".
According to game design director Ricky Liao, it will not have long cinematic cutscenes but instead storytelling through gameplay moments.
This approach is not about long cinematic sequences in which one simply sits, passively. Instead, this way, it's possible to immerse totally into the game and its actions.
'Black Hawk Down' Campaign: What Awaits Us?
What really makes the Black Hawk Down DLC so exciting is that it's not just the reenactment of the movie or what happened within the game—it's something authentic and dynamic.
The story of the game will be focused on gritty, real-world combat, where the weight of every decision and action will be felt during the entire campaign. The mission promises so much, no matter whether you're tackling it alone or with friends, as it is sure to keep you up on the edge of your seats.
More exclusive cosmetic rewards will be available for those who buy the "Black Hawk Down" DLC. These cosmetics can be used in "Delta Force's" multiplayer modes and provide additional incentives for players to stand out on the battlefield. Fans of the game will love these cosmetics, as they are able to customize their multiplayer characters in new and unique ways.
Delayed Launch, But Worth the Wait
Originally scheduled for a January release, the "Delta Force Black Hawk Down" campaign was postponed. Team Jade said they needed "a little more time for final polishing and optimization," and the launch would be moved into Season 2 of the game.
Now, the developers have locked in a firm release date: Thursday, February 20 at 6pm PST / 9pm EST and Friday, February 21 at 2am GMT / 3am CET.
Even as fans have eagerly been waiting for this DLC, there is one major question yet to be answered: how much will the "Black Hawk Down" campaign cost? Up to now, there has not been any word on the actual price, but rest assured it will be there soon, and all the thrills of the "Black Hawk Down" story will enter the "Delta Force" universe.
Is the 'Black Hawk Down Campaign' Worth Your Time?
With "Delta Force's" free multiplayer modes already serving as a deliciously rich, engaging experience to play, add the "Black Hawk Down" campaign as a bonus of depth to a game.
A memorable narrative through Team Jade by combining immersive gameplay with intense action can easily serve as one of the standout campaigns of the year.
