The first trailer for Destiny 2 debuted on Thursday, second if you count the Cayde-6 teaser from earlier this week, and it confirms a handful of the rumors seen online before Destiny 2 was formally announced earlier this month. And, yes, Destiny 2 is coming to PC.
The new video confirms a number of big changes for the Destiny sequel. For starters, we won’t be calling the Tower or The Last City home anymore. Both have been destroyed during a Cabal invasion, along with our old characters and their gear, forcing Cayde-6 and Commander Zavala to recruit and lead a new army of Guardians. There’s a new antagonist, Ghaul, and the recent Universo Destiny leak suggests we’ll be visiting several new destinations throughout our solar system.
Unfortunately, this week’s Destiny 2 trailer didn’t include any gameplay footage. The exclusion isn’t necessarily shocking -- Activision and Bungie need something to show at E3 2017 -- but we’d be lying if we said it wasn’t a bit disappointing all the same. That said, it’s nice to see the studio putting more emphasis on storytelling in the Destiny sequel. Even if all we have to go on, in crafting that theory, are a pair of new Destiny 2 trailers.

Destiny 2 is in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts September 8.
