August is going to be a big month for the Destiny community. We’ll still be a little over a month removed from the launch of Destiny 2. But Bungie says the Destiny community won’t have many more chances to finish some of its favorite events, like earning a trip to the Lighthouse. But that fast-approaching deadline exists for a pretty good reason.
According to Bungie, Destiny 1 data will be migrated in August, paving the way for fans to step back into their favorite Guardian’s boots when Destiny 2 heads to stores in September. And the studio says fans have until Aug. 1 to finish any/all content they’d like to see on the record when Destiny 2 debuts. Bungie revealed new emblems, each tied to a specific accomplishment from Destiny’s first three years of life, which will be awarded to the community when Destiny 2 arrives.
Here’s the full list, each of which can be previewed on Bungie.net:
Laurel Triumphant - You completed a Moment of Triumph during Destiny ’s first year.
Laurea Prima II - You completed all 10 Moments of Triumph during Destiny ’s first year.
Slayer of Oryx - You owned The Taken King and completed a Moment of Triumph during Destiny’s second year.
Heard the Call - You owned The Taken King and completed all 8 Moments of Triumph during Destiny’s second year.
Young Wolf - You owned Rise of Iron and reached Rank 2 in the Age of Triumph record book.
Saladin's Pride - You owned Rise of Iron and reached Rank 7 in the Age of Triumph record book.
Lore Scholar - Your achieved a Grimoire score of over 5,000 in Destiny 1.
Aug. 1 also marks the cut-off for ordering Age of Triumph t-shirts from the studio. Bungie is doing what it can to help. The studio scheduled more than half a dozen in-game events for July, many of which are necessary to get your AoT record book to Rank 7. But it’s up to players to finish checking boxes in their digital guide to Destiny’s last in-game event if they want to claim one of the thousands of Age of Triumph shirts that will be mailed out later this year. The studio also announced plans to unlock the remainder of Destiny’s platform-exclusive content, which remains inaccessible to Xbox owners, in October.
Last, but certainly not least, Destiny players are running out of chances to visit the elusive Lighthouse. Anyone hoping to visit the site, which only opens its doors to people with a perfect Trials of Osiris card, will need to participate in one of the upcoming Trials weekends. Bungie says the Trials of Osiris will be available every weekend this summer, culminating with one final round the weekend of Aug. 11. So you’ve got a little over a month left to earn a perfect run.
Destiny: Rise of Iron is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One. The upcoming sequel, Destiny 2, heads to consoles on Sept. 6 before making the jump to PC in October.
