Winter is coming to The Tower, and other explorable parts of Destiny: Rise of Iron, via a new update that will arrive later this month. We still don’t have much specific information on the patch, other than confirmation of new items and quests, but a new trailer does offer an early look at Destiny’s next holiday event, The Dawning.

Destiny will join a litany of other games in celebrating the holiday season, later this month, Bungie confirmed during the 2016 PlayStation Experience. A new trailer for the patch, slated to arrive next week, was shown during Sony’s keynote address and offers an early look at the decor we’ll see in the Tower (and other social spaces) later this month. Our first look at the December update also confirmed the Sparrow Racing League (SRL) will make its long-awaited return later this month. According to Bungie, The Dawning will begin on Dec. 13 and continue through Jan. 3, a sizeable window that should ensure everyone in the Destiny community gets to participate in the holiday festivities.

The three-week event will include several new quests, some of which will undoubtedly be tied to the SRL, and also introduce new equipment for the Destiny community. Bungie has also promised to revive another Year One exotic, Ice Breaker, which proved tremendously popular with the first wave of players to join the Destiny community. And fans of sparrow racing can look forward to a pair of new tracks during this year’s event.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One.
