NOTE: We've updated the post to reflect that Bungie was once again forced to relocated Xur. Destiny players will now find the Agent of the Nine waiting in the Tower instead of the Reef.
It’s Xur day, Destiny fans!
With another long work/school week nearly in the books, every Destiny player’s favorite exotic item vendor has returned to the Tower; ready to trade Strange Coins for whatever random assortment of exotic equipment the Agent of the Nine has for sale this weekend. Xur’s weekly visit might still be one of the most predictable occurrences in the Destiny community’s weekly rotation. After all, he’s returned to the Tower (or the Reef) every Friday since the launch of “vanilla” Destiny. But that doesn’t seem to make the Agent of the Nine’s weekend visits any less exciting for Destiny players.
This week, Xur has been moved to the Tower Hangar
Of course, the visits don’t always prove to be as exciting as we’d hoped. Last week, Xur returned to the Tower with a bundle of exotic items that we’ve seen countless times over the last 16 to 17 months. The return of the Apotheosis Veil and Knucklehead Radar, not to mention another appearance from No Backup Plans, was pretty underwhelming for Destiny players who’ve paid numerous visits to Xur’s shop. But there’s no telling how this week might shake out. Maybe we’ll get a whole collection of exotics on-par with Dragon’s Breath or Invective. Stranger things have happened.
Here’s everything Xur is selling to the Destiny community January 15-17:
Ruin Wings

- Intellect: 29 / 42
- Discipline: 27 / 40
- Heavy ammo drops more often and contains more ammo in each drop

Celestial Nighthawk

- Golden Gun fires one shot with 6x damage, while granting Keyhole for overpenetration

The Impossible Machines

- Strength: 30 / 43

Exotic Helmet Engram

As always, Xur has plenty of other goodies for Destiny players to spend their Strange Coins, too. In addition to the exotic wares, the Agent of the Nine is also selling a handful of other curios, including Three of Coins stacks. And Destiny players will also find the usual legendary Sparrows upgrades, with blue and red contrails available this week, along with the usual Motes of Light and Heavy Ammo Synthesis. Glass Needles can also be purchased from Xur this weekend.
