There are many devilish creatures you can fight in "Diablo IV," including many challenging bosses that will test your skills in combat.
One of the major enemies that you can encounter in Blizzard's classic action RPG is Lord Zir, who is one of the most popular bosses to farm. Lord Zir has very generous drops and relatively easy mechanics that give players the most rewards for the least amount of effort.
Despite this, there are still many players that are not sure how to encounter the boss and some also struggle to defeat Lord Zir. This guide helps these players learn how to summon the boss and how to reliably fight him for his drops.
How To Summon Lord Zir
If you want to fight Lord Zir in "Diablo IV," you will have to go to The Darkened Way dungeon, which is located in Kehjistan, east of Kyovashad. After you get there, you should go to the lower floor and go to the Ancient's Seat lair instance, according to The Gamer.
This is the boss' personal chamber, and you need to go to the end of the lair to find Lord Zir's summoning altar.
The materials you need to summon the boss change depending on the difficulty you are having. For Normal, you need nine Exquisite Blood, while Tormented requires one Stygian Stone and 27 Exquisite Blood.
Exquisite Blood can be acquired as a relatively common drop from Elite monsters, Treasure Goblins, Hellborne enemies within Helltide, and world events. Stygian Stones can be found in higher tiers of the Pit and the Infernal Hordes.
How To Defeat Lord Zir
When fighting the boss, you will want to have as much Shadow Resistance as you can get to mitigate Lord Zir's damage. A lot of people recommended that players try to get to the cap of 70% if they can, Shack News said.
It is also recommended that you keep kiting the boss to minimize the amount of damage you take from his attacks. You should be wary of his heavy frontal attacks that are fairly easily avoided if you keep an eye out for them.
After you deal a quarter of the boss' health in damage, Lord Zir will summon an Elite Bloodseeker that you have to kill. After reducing the boss to half health, he will summon damaging spheres of blood that can damage you.
The last part is when you reduce the boss to only a quarter of his maximum health. He will attack players using a weird blood rain that you can dodge.
The boss' relatively straightforward mechanics can take some time to get used to, but you can eventually master them.
Lord Zir's Rewards
After defeating the boss, you will be able to receive rewarding loot that changes depending on what class you are playing. One of the general drops of Lord Zir is one Sandscorched Shackle, which you can use to summon the Echo of Andariel boss.
The Tormented version of Lord Zir also has a chance to drop the Diadem of the Ancient, which is a fancy crown cosmetic that can spice up your character's look, according to PCGamesN.
