In a new trailer for Dishonored 2, Bethesda shows us a Low Chaos playthrough of the Clockwork Mansion mission. Check out what it looks like when Emily sneaks through the place to rescue Anton Sokolov in the Dishonored 2 gameplay trailer below:
You can also check out the High Chaos version of the Clockwork Mansion below, where Emily goes straight for the homeowner’s throat and mows down a ton of clockwork soldiers to do it:
Same setting, same array of exciting Outsider abilities used, but very different results. In Low Chaos, the clockwork soldiers don’t bother Emily and she enacts a rescue. In High Chaos, Emily’s slicing off limbs and ripping soldiers apart -- and enacting a little cosmic justice on the mission target.
These trailers just feature Emily, but others feature both Emily and her father Corvo, as you can see in this Creative Kills trailer.
In a GameSpot interview, creative director Harvey Smith discussed how his team designed each character to feel different:
"We knew we wanted to make Emily no matter what, and then we were like, 'God, we really feel nostalgic about Corvo. Let's do both of them,'" Smith said . "At first, we were thinking, 'Let's just throw all the powers into one big pool.' Then it became more and more interesting to us to say, 'No, the powers reflect their lives or their time in the world.'
"Corvo has Rat Swarm because he got his powers during the Rat Plague," Smith added. "You can look at Emily: she's a ruler, so of course she has Mesmerize."
Dishonored 2 is scheduled for release on Nov. 11 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Will you be along for the ride? Feel free to talk about the sequel to Dishonored in our comments section below.
