I have a collection obsession, and Disney’s newest Lego mini figurines may be downfall. I’ve avoided buying these little blind bags before; after spending 20 dollars and getting three Frankensteins, I decided there were better ways for me to burn money. But these new figures combine my love of Lego with my love for the Cheshire Cat. (Not that Johnny Depp monstrosity that looks like an old hippie acid flashback in the back of a Petco.)
These little plastic icons go for $3.99 and will soon be available wherever they sell plastic blocks in May. If you want a specific figure, don’t order online. You have to go to the store and feel out each little plastic bag; after enough practice you’ll be able to tell Donald Duck’s bill from Maleficient’s cowl. Stitch is my favorite of the bunch; he’s going to look great alongside my Revoltech Stitch, which is currently eating an ice cream cone on my desk. Genie comes in a close second, his wispy tail and pony tail make the character recognizable while still looking unique.
I don’t usually forget I’m a full grown man, but when I do it’s because I was writing about my love for Disney characters. #WeareallDisneyprincesses
