Despite the multitude of criticism Tom Clancy's The Division has received, the developers haven't given up on the game yet and have taken the brutal feedback in stride. According to Ubisoft, the team is currently preparing for a new The Division 1.2 update. However, the release date of the DLC has yet to be determined.
"The processes have been updated and we want to make sure 1.2 is really tested correctly and there are no obvious things that are making it through, so that's the reason why, so far, we're not giving any dates [on its release]," explained community developer Yannick Banchereau in yesterday's The Division State of the Game livestream.
According to the details from Ubisoft, the biggest change that The Division 1.2 update will bring to the gameplay is a brand new 200+ Bracket in the Dark Zone. The current bracket settings only split the Dark Zone between under-160 or over-160 servers. However, the game was still frustrating for many as the over-160 bracket did not have a cap that could balance the PVP. A new 200+ bracket will hopefully restore some competitiveness in the Dark Zone.
What's more, the upcoming The Division 1.2 update will also introduce several changes to the loot system. The 1.1 update restructured the crafting system and caused players to believe that any luck of obtaining a new high-end weapon will require taking down named elites in the Dark Zone. However, the 1.2 update will increase the likelihood of loot drops that contain high-end gear and weapons. Ubisoft also plans to make weak gear stronger instead of stronger gear weaker in order to balance the gameplay.
As for cheats, glitches and exploits, Ubisoft is still working hard to patch the bugs as quickly as possible. In particular, expect the Falcon Lost incursion glitch that involves taking down the APC without going through the 15 waves of LMB to be patched as well. Stay tuned as we expect to find out The Division 1.2 DLC release date in the days ahead.
