Doctor Who Season 10 is set to debut in spring 2017, and numerous set photos from local fans confirm the cast and crew of Doctor Who is currently filming at a historic home in Bristol, England.
The production was spotted at Kings Weston House, a picturesque eighteenth-century estate in northwest Bristol. The location is a popular venue for weddings and conferences.
The presence of fake snow has prompted speculation the series is filming part of its Christmas Special in Bristol. One eagle-eyed passerby even snapped a picture of all the man-made winter splendor:
Den of Geek reports the 2016 Christmas Special will be the only new Who fans will see this year, so it is very possible the crew is shooting footage for its Dec. 25 outing in Bristol.
Series stars Peter Capaldi (the Doctor) and Pearl Mackie (Bill, the new Doctor’s Companion) were also spotted by fans at Kings Weston House, clad in period costumes. Capaldi gave one lucky fan a Malcolm Tucker-worthy scowl, though newcomer Mackie seemed more cheerful.
Other fans spotted Capaldi on set looking decidedly less dapper, possibly due to some staged explosions, courtesy of the show’s special effects team.
Doctor Who Season 10 will premiere on the BBC in spring 2017, with episodes available stateside via BBC America and Amazon shortly thereafter. The Christmas Special will air on the BBC Dec. 25, 2016.
