A new patch for Don’t Starve Together , the cooperative spin-off of Klei Entertainment’s sandbox survival game, is out now on PC. It’s a beefy update; one that introduces everything from bug fixes to new biomes. And that’s just the start of what Don’t Starve Together players will find in this week’s A New Reign update.

New loot, locations and enemies are all just the sort of thing we like to see in new Don’t Starve patches. And none of the three are in short supply in the A New Reign update. Four new Giants have been added to the game -- Antlion, Bee Queen, Klaus and Toadstool -- just in case your band of adventurers is running out of things to fear. This week’s Don’t Starve Together patch also adds new oases and explorable caverns to the game’s existing desert biomes. Best of all, Klei says all of the A New Reign content should seamlessly incorporate itself into your existing worlds. No need to start over. That said, Klei does acknowledge that some players may prefer a fresh start since the new additions will have some impact on balance and progression.

Here are all the other changes Klei confirmed in today’s announcement :

  • Search the desert for new surprises shrouded by the Sandstorm in summer.

  • Pay tribute to the Antlion to prevent Sinkholes above ground and Cave-ins underground, as well as earn other rewards.

  • Added Desert Goggles, a must have when walking into a Sandstorm.

  • Added The Lazy Deserter, a magical device used for teleporting players to each other.

  • Added /sit and /squat emotes.

  • Discover the secret entrance to the new Atrium zone inside the Caves and unlock the mysteries lying deep within the Heart of the Ruins.

  • Ornate Chests can no longer be destroyed, and the Large Ornate Chest now contains better loot, including an Ancient Key.

  • The Shadow Atrium can now be used to resurrect Odd Skeletons. Results may vary, depending on where you attempt this dangerous ritual!

  • Ruins music is back!
