A lot of Dota 2 teams are still in the process of preparing for the upcoming DPC season. In Western Europe, there have been some big roster movements and one of these is Alliance officially revealing their new roster.
This new roster has the East meets West vibe because they're joined by two new recruits from Southeast Asia. The new roster is filled by:
- Charlie "charlie" Arat (Carry)
- Ng "ChYuan" Kee Chyuan (Midlane)
- Gustav "s4" Magnusson (Offlane/Captain)
- Remus "ponlo" Goh (Roaming Support)
- Simon "Handsken" Haag (Hard Support)
It's the Swedes
Despite some high expectations, the previous roster of Alliance didn't really perform well and was released in September 2022. For the new roster, the team is banking on the experience that S4 can bring to the team. After all, he was part of the team that hoisted the Aegis in TI3.
Joining him is Handsken, and as a Hard Support is expected to serve as an anchor teammate. He's seen to be the big brother of the team in and out of the game. Rounding out the Western players is Charlie, tasked with leading the team to victory as the carry.
From SEA
From SEA, the team welcomes Singaporean player Ponlo, who was part of North America under Quincy Crew in 2021. For Alliance, they're excited to see where his hunger takes him and what tone he can set for the squad.
Finally, there's the Malaysian player ChYuaN who's taking on the role of Midlaner. At TI10, he was part of Fnatic and while they were eliminated, his performance drew the attention of Alliance. The team is banking on his experience in different regions because it means he has good versatility.
Excited for the New Season
Talking about this new roster, CEO Jonathan "Loda" Berg stated that despite the mistakes made, he is one who doesn't want to be defined by those mistakes. He added that he's excited to see how the combination of Swedes and SEA performs in the new season.
Meanwhile, S4 he shared that he's happy to be back in the team and that they're ready to fight their way to the top. He admitted that while the expectations of the fans are indeed low right now, he plans to change all that next year.
