After three months of being on a trial basis, Dota 2 team Natus Vincere officially signed on the new roster. The members were originally part of FlyToMoon before they were signed on a trial basis back in September.
This move was done after more members of the past roster were put on inactive status. Though, the new roster is only expected to be signed for OGA Dota PIT Season 3 and ESL One Germany.
With this, Na’Vi’s roster is now composed of:
- Alik “V-Tune” Vorobey
- Bogdan “Iceberg” Vasilenko
- Victor “GeneRaL” Nigrini
- Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosyan
- Andrey “ALWAYSWANNAFLY” Bondarenko (Team Captain)
As FlyToMoon, the roster was doing pretty well. They got good finishes in Tier 2 and Tier 3 tournaments. Before being a part of Na’Vi, they had taken the top spot in the OMEGA League: Europe Divine Division.
Under the Na’Vi banner, the team showed good performances as well. In the OGA Dota PIT Season 3, they were fourth place after beating teams like Team Nigma and OG. In ESL One Germany, a Tier 1 tournament, they snatched second place. They ended the Group Stage with a spot at the Upper Bracket. Here, they managed to win consecutively and earned a Grand Final slot. However, they were unable to beat Team Liquid, which took home the championship. Still, the team showed good performance.
Even with those two tournaments finished, the roster continued to play as Na’Vi. In the EPIC League Division 1, they had a good run before being eliminated by OG and settled for the 5th-6th place along with Team Secret.
They managed to avenge that loss to OG during the OGA Dota PIT Season 4. As Na’Vi, they went through teams like Alliance and OG. Then, they secured a Grand Final spot and finished second place. In the Grand Finals against OG, which was pretty much a rematch of their Upper Bracket match, Na’Vi dominated the game with a 3–0 victory.
In a statement, Na’Vi head Eugene "HarisPilton" Zolotarev said that signing “FlyToMoon was the best Na’Vi solution for the past few years.”
In Dota 2, Na’Vi has been one of the pillars and one of the power teams. There’s no question that the new roster is under a lot of pressure. But given what they have shown so far, they could bring back the legacy that is Na’Vi.
