The post-TI roster shuffle continues and this time it’s Alliance biting the bullet. This European Dota 2 team is now down to two members after three have left. Linus “Limmp” Blomdin and Artsiom “fng” Barshak were actually the first to leave, followed by Gustav “S4” Magnusson a few days later.
Let’s start with S4, who was actually part of the Alliance roster that won TI3. He had been going around different teams before joining Alliance again as team captain for the new DPC season. In a statement, Alliance CEO and Co-founder Jonathan “Loda” Berg shared that it’s sad to say goodbye to someone as special and important as S4.
While the team did well during the regular season, they didn’t fare during the two majors. Berg did add, however, that the leadership of S4 not only managed to bring Alliance back to TI but also win a game at the Main Event.
Two Members Leave
A few days before S4’s departure, Alliance had parted ways with both Limmp and fng. Limp was originally part of the team back in 2016 before leaving for Complexity Gaming. He rejoined Alliance after TI9. Meanwhile, fng was initially a player on loan from Gambit Esports before officially joining the team last year.
Berg revealed in a statement that the two have been truly professional during their time with the team and that it was a pleasure to work with them.
Disbanded
One team that we may not see again in the upcoming Season is Creepwave. Created just early this year, the team has made the decision to officially disband. In a post on Twitter, the team revealed that some of their players had received Tier 1 offers. While they wanted to stay together, they admitted that these were also opportunities that happen once in a lifetime.
The question is, which members have been invited and what teams invited them?
Back to One
After a sub-par performance, B8 has benched most of the roster leaving only founder Danil “Dendi” Ishutin. While fans continue to speculate on the reasons, the Twitter post where the announcement was made didn’t really reveal much.
Which team do you think is next in the roster shuffle?
