The rumored new Dragon Ball fighting game was officially revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2017 press conference.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 2D fighting game developed by Arc System Works and looks a lot like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat but using the fighters of the Dragon Ball universe. The fighting isn’t the only thing that’s changed, but the art style seems much more in-line with the anime and it looks fast-paced and brings the chaos like only Dragon Ball can.
Check out the trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ below.
“The DRAGON BALL franchise is tailor suited for the fighting game genre, and DRAGON BALL FighterZ will be the next exciting addition to a long history of great fighting games,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. in a press release. “Arc System Works brings a pedigree and record of quality that fighting game fans can trust; with awesome visuals players might mistake as actual 2D animation from the famed DRAGON BALL series.”
There’s a bunch to digest from the trailer but the biggest aspects of Dragon Ball FighterZ is that there is 3 vs 3 battles similar to Marvel vs Capcom and, honestly, a lot of what looks great about Dragon Ball FighterZ is how similar and chaotic it looks to that great fighting game franchise.
Fans can see all of the big hitters returning for this 2D fighting game, including Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Cell, Majin Buu and Frieza. There will be transformations and cross attacks using your three teammates.
Super Saiyan 3 was shown and even Golden Frieza made an appearance. There’s still a lot we don’t know about the upcoming new Dragon Ball fighting game but Player. One will be at E3 2017 and we’ll get all the information on Dragon Ball FighterZ and update as soon as we learn more.
Players who can’t wait to dive into the action in DRAGON BALL FighterZ ’s won’t have to wait long as a closed beta for the game will be held on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 before the end of summer. More details pertaining to the closed beta will be shared soon.
