One of the many awesome aspects of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 character creator is how you can now transform using a race-specific Awoken Skill. These Awakenings can turn the tides of battle in Xenoverse 2 by increasing certain stats.

It was a big deal when Xenoverse 2 confirmed that Super Saiyan 3 would be in the game, but every race has an Awakening that is pretty cool and adds to the strategy of battle.

To unlock these Awoken Skills, you’ll need to complete all of the side quests given to you in the time rift. There are five rifts in all, each for every race in Xenoverse 2 and by completing your race’s side quests, you’ll be granted the new transformation. Each rift offers different side quests, so here are all the transformations in Xenoverse 2 and how to unlock them.

SUPER SAIYAN

To unlock the Super Saiyan Awakening, your character will have to be a Saiyan (obvs) and you’ll have to head over to the Capsule Corp rift that will unlock after you finish the Saiyan Saga in the story mode.

You will have to talk to Vegeta at Capsule Corp and he will challenge you to a sparring match. This is different from having Vegeta as your mentor. Defeat Vegeta and he will eventually challenge you again.

After this, you’ll have to talk to Bulma and Trunks; Vegeta will arrive sometime later (the game will let you know when Vegeta wishes to challenge you again) and take you to the Super Saiyan level.

That’s not all, as he will challenge you again after this to give you access to the Super Vegeta awakening.

NIMBUS (HUMAN AWAKENING)

The Earthling awakening will give you access to the flying cloud, Nimbus. Again, you’ll have to head over to Hercules House in the time rift and you’ll have to complete tasks given to you by Great Saiyaman and Great Saiyawoman.

Reports say the frequency of these quests is very slow, so be sure to get started as soon as possible. Once you’ve completed enough quests you will gain access to Nimbus and the Power Pole.

SUPER NAMEK

Chose a Namekian? Then head over to Guru’s house in the time rift to take part in side quests. These tasks ask you to protect the Dragon Balls, which means defeat a number of characters and then collect a certain number of Dragon Balls before the time runs out.

If you are defeated or if time runs out, you will have to retrieve the Dragon Balls on Frieza’s ship, which is a much harder task than simply defending Guru’s home. Eventually, Guru will unlock the Super/Giant Namek transformation.

PURE MAJIN/KID BUU

If your character is a Majin, you can unlock your “pure” form, which is essentially Kid Buu from the anime.

To gain this skill, you’ll have to head over to Majin Buu’s house in the time rift and feed the former villain until he spawns a child. Food can be found by talking to NPCs in Conton City or purchasing them at the shop. Continue to feed Majin Buu and let him spawn enough children until he is ready to teach you the Awoken Skill.

GOLDEN FRIEZA

If you chose a Frieza character in Xenoverse 2 then you’ll have to head over to Frieza’s Ship in the time rift. Once there, you’ll need to join Frieza’s army and gain the tyrant’s trust.

Zarbon will be the first in your way, followed by Ginyu. Dispose of them and Frieza ask you to work directly under him. Complete Frieza’s side quests until Cooler eventually shows up and asks you to defeat Frieza in his ultimate form. Defeat Frieza and you will get this new transformation.
