DUST 514 is shutting down its servers after three years of its PlayStation 3 exclusive gameplay. CCP Frame announced on their official DUST 514 forums the last day to play the game will be May 30.
While DUST 514 is shutting down for good, it’s not the end for CCP Frame. The developers also announced they’ve been working on a prototype for a new first-person shooter for PC set in New Eden, the same universe as DUST 514 , called Project Legion . The project was announced back in 2014 as a reimagining of DUST 514 . The project is still in development.
“We are very proud of what we’ve learned and accomplished with DUST 514 on PlayStation 3 over the past three years and it is an honor to be a part of such a dedicated community,” CCP Frame wrote. “We consider DUST 514 one of the best free-to-play offerings on the platform, but the years have caught up with us.”
Gamers may continue to play DUST 514 layers but will no longer be came to purchase PSN packs for the in-game marketplace from the PlayStation Store. Players with existing Aurum will be able to use their remaining currency in the marketplace.
