For the past few years, 2K has gone the celebrity route when it comes to producing and curating the music that appears in WWE 2K video games. WWE 2K15 featured Wiz Khalifa and John Cena joining forces and in WWE 2K17 P. Diddy brought his musical talents to the curating stage for the game. This year, 2K went to the biggest actor in the world and former WWE Champion for help.
2K announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the new Executive Soundtrack Producer for WWE 2K18. Johnson’s musical taste has always been considered as one of the most eclectic and the soundtrack for WWE 2K18 will reflect a variety of music. In addition to news about Johnson, 2K also announced that the company is teaming up with Apple Music to stream the WWE 2K18 soundtrack.
“Music is one of my soul’s anchors,” said Johnson. “All genres. I am excited to celebrate my WWE roots by partnering with the 2K and Apple Music teams and share some of my favorite hardcore training songs with fans all over the world.”
