Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass keeps getting better and better. The service allows players to play hundreds of games on both PC and Xbox consoles. Some of the best games like The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 have appeared on the video game subscription service. To make the service even better, Microsoft recently confirmed that as of this holiday season, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also get a free EA Play subscription.
EA Play was formerly known as EA Access and Origin Access. The service is similar to Xbox Game Pass, however, it's limited to just EA games. EA Play allows fans to enjoy current and classic EA games like Titanfall, Need for Speed, Dead Space, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect for a small subscription fee.
An EA Play subscription costs a small $5 a month. However, according to the recent Microsoft announcement, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also receive a free EA Play subscription for no additional cost. EA Play on Xbox Game Pass will allow players to not only play their favorite EA games on PC and Xbox consoles, but also stream the games on their mobile devices via Project xCloud.
Just yesterday, there were rumors making the rounds on the internet regarding Xbox Games Pass getting an important feature. Now it seems that the inclusion of EA Play was the rumored feature. EA Play grants access to over 60 EA games, exclusive in-game content, and even trials on brand-new releases.
Microsoft has been playing their cards very cleverly, and despite the delay of Halo: Infinite, the company is bent on making the Xbox Series S/X valuable consoles on the market. Now, if the company continues to keep the player at the center and continues to add beneficial features like EA Play, Xbox can easily give the PlayStation 5 a run for its money.
