Frontier Developments is just weeks away from releasing Elite Dangerous: Horizons on Xbox One, the studio confirmed on Friday morning, announcing plans to release Planetary Landings on June 3. The studio has also provided a timeline for the PC debut of The Engineer s , the second of four expansions included with the purchase of Elite Dangerous: Horizons .
The console arrival of Elite Dangerous: Horizons comes roughly six months after the content was first released to the PC community. As a result, thousands of explorable worlds from the late 2015 expansion have already been thoroughly documented by Elite: Dangerous players. Fortunately, the game is home to tens of thousands of those planets, so there should still be plenty of new territory for the Xbox One community to explore when Planetary Landings debuts next month.
In addition to revealing the timeline for Elite Dangerous: Horizons ’ Xbox One debut, Frontier Developments confirmed plans to release the game’s second expansion, The Engineers , to the PC community on May 26. An early changelog for the expansion, based on the beta hosted earlier this month, can currently be seen on the Elite: Dangerous forums. The biggest changes will undoubtedly be the game’s new loot and crafting mechanics, along with the addition of the eponymous Engineers, but there are plenty of smaller changes to get excited about too.
