Epic Games wrapped up 2019 by giving away 12 incredible games, and the digital storefront plans to continue giving away games every week moving forward. Epic Games also kicked off this year by giving away three amazing games - Darksiders, Darksiders 2 and Steep, and now it has settled on a weekly game giveaway schedule. Epic finally made it official by stating that weekly giveaways are going to continue throughout 2020.
"New decade means new games and we’re looking at a great start with tons of amazing titles coming exclusively to the Epic Games Store in 2020," Epic said in a press statement. "To kick things off, we’re extending our weekly free game program throughout 2020. Every single week, come back to claim your game. Once claimed, it’s yours to keep forever."
It is quite interesting to see that Epic is going to focus on exclusive titles, but many of us do have a feeling that it is tough competition to win against Steam. Nonetheless, the digital storefront has chosen not to waver from its course regardless of any backlash against store-exclusive titles.
Along with the confident statements, Epic also shared impressive numbers showing why it plans to push forward: $680 million has been spent in the store, which also includes $251 million on third-party games from 108 million PC gamers.
Now, even if you haven't spent your money on Epic Store purchases, you can never say no to free games that the company is giving away. Speaking of which, you can grab Sundered: Eldritch Edition for free until January 16. After that, Horace will take its place for the next week. Other exclusive titles coming to Epic Games include Predator: Hunting Grounds, Magic: The Gathering Arena, Auto Chess, Rogue Company, and Godfall.
