This year has given us many delays, and you can add one more to the list. The co-op and multiplayer game, Evil Dead: The Game, has become the latest victim of a delay. The game was initially supposed to launch this year, but now, it will launch in February 2022. The announcement was made via the official Twitter account.
“This additional time is also allowing us to implement a single-player option that will let you enjoy the game when you are without your co-op compadres,” the developer added.
The developer revealed that the reason for the delay is that they need more polishing time, and after Cyberpunk 2077, I don’t blame them. Better wait for a finished product than a rushed port. The delay will also allow the developer to add a single-player option. This will let players play the game alone when their friends aren’t online.
Evil Dead: The Game is being developed by Boss Team Games and will be published by Saber Interactive. It was announced during The Game Awards 2020 with a reveal trailer which you can watch above. The developer also released the gameplay trailer of the game two months ago.
The game will allow you to play characters from the Evil Dead universe including the famous Ash Williams from the older movies. Characters from the Ash vs. Evil Dead TV Show will be making a return as well. There will be multiple maps and over 25 weapons. Ash will be able to equip his iconic chainsaw as well.
The delay could work in the developer’s favor. Another zombie killing game, Back 4 Blood, a spiritual successor of Left 4 Dead, will come out this December. Now, the release date won’t clash with each other.
As mentioned above, Evil Dead: The Game will launch on February 2022 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
