They say that a king or a queen is nothing without a throne room. After all, one part of being a ruler is to have a place to display majesty in addition to welcoming guests. Players will get that chance when Crusader Kings 3 launches its first-ever major expansion.
In Royal Court, everyone can accumulate artifacts and build new kinds of nations. It’s arriving in the game on February 8 next year.

For this upcoming major expansion, players can look forward to these features:
- Throne Room

- Grandeur
- Increase the quality of life at the court with fancier trappings and better food.
- Do everything to impress your rivals and attract higher-quality guests.

In addition to the new expansion, there’s also a free update coming along. It includes a new culture interface and minor court positions, among others.
Post-Launch
The Royal Court expansion is the second of three post-launch content previously revealed. The first was the Northern Lords Pack which brought new events and new cultural themes related to Norse society. It introduced Jomsvikings and Shieldmaidens, who would take up arms on the player’s behalf. There’s also the new cultural content that included special Norse dynastic legacies, Norse blot sacrifices, and trials by combat along with cultural innovations.
Once the new expansion is released, the next is another Flavor Pack though no release date has been revealed.
Released in September 2020, Crusader Kings 3 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
