With the Gamescom 2019 Opening Night Live event less than two weeks away, host Geoff Keighley has announced on Twitter the publishers who will be premiering new content and various announcements during the first few hours of Gamescom 2019. Check out the tweet below, along with a list of possible titles we could see from the publishers.
- 2K – it would be surprising if we don’t see more from the upcoming Borderlands 3, which will be releasing in September. The publisher has also recently revealed more information for WWE 2K20, so that could make an appearance at this year’s Gamescom.
- Activision – expect a grand showcase of the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from Activision at this year’s Gamescom.
- Bandai Namco Entertainment – the Japanese publisher has revealed quite a number of new titles earlier this year during E3, like Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Tales of Arise. The company already confirmed FromSoftware’s Elden Ring will be premiered for the press during Gamescom.
- Bungie – the developer behind Destiny 2 will most likely reveal more news with regards to the game’s move to a free-to-play model come September, as well as its upcoming expansion Shadowkeep.
- Capcom – expect Monster Hunter World: Iceborne to appear in some capacity, as the game’s first major expansion will be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One in September.
- Electronic Arts – the publisher will most likely reveal new information for the new Need for Speed game, which will be revealed in the days leading up to Gamescom. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is also releasing in November, so expect to see some news with regards to that as well.
- Epic Games – the publisher will most likely announce new titles exclusive to their PC storefront, so be prepared for anything.
- Google Stadia – the tech giant's attempt to break into the gaming industry with cloud-based services will most likely share some more news regarding upcoming titles for the platform. Google will also hold a Stadia Connect on the same day.
- Koch Media/Deep Silver – the publisher will possibly showcase more of the upcoming Shenmue III, as well as Wasteland III.
- Private Division – the publisher has already announced that they will be debuting V1 Interactive’s first-person shooter Disintegration at Gamescom 2019.
- Sega – the Japanese publisher has already announced their lineup which includes Catherine: Full Body, Two Point Hospital for consoles, the Sega Genesis Mini/Mega Drive Mini and one unannounced AAA title.
- Square Enix – the publisher will be showcasing Marvel’s Avengers, showing off new gameplay footage which already debuted at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks ago.
- Sony Interactive Entertainment – Death Stranding is already confirmed for a pretty big showing during the opening by Keighley himself, which will of course be presented onstage by none other than Hideo Kojima himself.
- THQ Nordic GmbH – the publisher has announced their slate of playable titles for the event, including games like Darksiders Genesis and Biomutant. There will also be a secret, unannounced game revealed during the Opening.
- Ubisoft – the French publisher is most likely showing off more of its two major upcoming AAA titles, Watch Dogs Legion and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
- Xbox Game Studios – Xbox will be showcasing some of their newest first-party IPs for the console and PC, including titles like Gears 5 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC.
