There's good news for EA Sports F1 22 players. It's been confirmed by Codemasters and EA that the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, also known as Portimao, has been added to the starting today, August 2. This is a free circuit update available to everyone. Portimao has been added to Time Trial, Grand Prix, and Multiplayer modes.
Portimao returned to the F1 calendar as part of the revised F1 calendar for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. In both years, it was dominated by Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes who took the victory with then-teammate Valtteri Bottas who claimed second place in 2020 and third place in 2021. This 4.684 km undulating circuit is famous for its sharp descent just before a final right turn and full-throttle to the finish line.
In a statement, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters Lee Mather revealed that players always love to compete on more circuits, and it doesn't get much better than Portimao. He added that Portimao has a proud history and players are sure to love the challenge of taking this circuit for the very first time.
There's also China’s Shanghai International Circuit arriving in the game this September 12.
