The Las Vegas Grand Prix is set to have its first-ever Formula One race later this week. In addition, it is going to be the 1100th round of the Formula One World Championship. In celebration of this latest milestone, Electronic Arts is inviting players to try out the Las Vegas Strip on F1 23. They also get the challenge and see if they can beat Charles Leclerc's fastest lap and even unlock new #LasVegasGP-themed rewards.
That's not all since everyone actually gets the chance to try out their skills on the Las Vegas Strip. It's because there's going to be a "Free to play" weekend for F1 23 from November 16 to November 20. During this weekend, racers can also earn double XP across the different game modes. Of course, there are other rewards available. The game is available free on the dates mentioned for the PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S.
Talking about the new circuit, Codemasters Senior Creative Director Lee Mather revealed that he loved watching the team develop a "virtual recreation of the vibrance and energy of the Strip." He went on to say that they're honored to have been able to bring this new circuit to all players around the world and enjoy it ahead of the actual Grand Prix.
EA Event
Making things even more exciting is that EA SPORTS is set to host a star-studded event that sees the biggest names in sports and gaming come together to officially kick off the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023 weekend. For those interested, the event can be watched on the official YouTube channel of Formula 1 on November 15 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
Daniel Ricciardo shared his excitement ahead of the race and even help set the scene in a new video which covers his first look at the new US circuit. There's also going to be a sneak on how Max Verstappen is preparing for this new circuit.
In-Game Events
Even before the start of the free weekend, there's going to be some interesting in-game events. These include the new Las Vegas "Pro Challenge" with Charles Leclerc along with the "F1 World" Scenario Event with Lewis Hamilton. There are also a bunch of in-game items available for free and developed in collaboration with the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The in-game events are accessible from November 14 to November 20. Meanwhile, the items are available from November 16 to November 18, and all players need to do is log in to the game.
But what there's more! From November 20 to December 11, players get to experience the excitement of racing Ferrari's recently revealed Golden Era car livery, which pays paying homage to the first "golden era" of Formula 1 in America.
