Launched earlier this month, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has proven to be an addictive battle royale game, becoming the most downloaded game through PlayStation Plus. Mediatonic is also actively engaging with fans, keeping them updated with news, and sharing future plans for Fall Guys.
Recently, the game also received an important update that addressed some of the most-requested features regarding team-based games and the ability to spectate party members automatically. While these are small updates, they do improve the overall player experience and they can help keep the audience engaged. However, players are still calling for more important fixes, one of the major ones being addressing cheaters and hackers.
In a recent interview with The Loadout, Fall Guys devs Joe Walsh and Oliver Hindle talked about the game's success and shared their plans for the future. When asked about custom lobbies or servers, Walsh stated, "It’s still early days, but it’s something we hear a desire for. Fall Guys is ultimately a TV show and people want to be the director, they want to run their own show. We totally hear the demand for that, but it’ll take us a little while to figure out what that looks like exactly. But it’s on our list of things to do."
Hindle also added that having custom servers will help the team in implementing large scale events that Fall Guys has been planning.
Walsh also commented on the status of cross-play by saying the studio is committed to introducing cross-play as a feature, but at this moment there are no new updates.
Currently, Mediatonic is working on releasing Season 2, which was announced at Gamescom Open Night Live. Season 2 introduces a medieval theme to the game, adding new mini-games, loads of new costumes, and store content. The studio also confirmed that the Season 2 battle pass will also be free.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently available on PC and PS4.
