Released in August, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout quickly became everyone's favorite non-violent battle royale game. Today, Mediatonic announced that Fall Guys achieved a new milestone. It has reached more than 11 million downloads on PC alone. The game also became one of the most-downloaded games on PlayStation 4.
For those unaware, Fall Guys is only available on PC and PS4. But on PS4, the game is also launched as a PS Plus title. This gives PS Plus subscribers free access to the game. Despite being available on only two platforms, Fall Guys managed to gain huge success. The success pushed an upcoming seasonal update. This would mark the third season of the game since launch.
While Sony hasn't confirmed the number of players of Fall Guys, it is believed that the game's free availability on PS Plus led to the incredible milestone. But the real deal was on PC. Over 11 million copies were downloaded and PC players didn't get them for free. So, is it really the free availability on PS Plus? Or it may be the game experience itself?
Another result of the success is the recently opened new studio of Mediatronic in the UK. The studio is preparing to hire new staff from a wide range of disciplines. The expansion may boost the game or accelerate other endeavors.
Currently, fans are enjoying the second season for Fall Guys, a game based on a medieval theme. The developer teased the third season that showed a new theme: winter. Just like the second season, fans will expect the new season to introduce fresh mini-games, cosmetics, and quality of life changes. The new season should go live between December 6 and December 12.
