There's no other game as popular as Fall Guys right now. Along with crushing it on Steam, Fall Guys also broke the record for most downloads on PS Plus. While millions of players are engaged in a non-violent battle royale, some of them are actually relying on cheats to win the game. Developer Mediatonic is now looking at a solution that may put an end to cheaters in Fall Guys quite soon.
It's been just over a month since Fall Guys has been out and players have already been reporting cheaters using speed hacks and high jumps. Dealing with cheaters has now become the develoeper's top priority. Even though Fall Guys isn't a very competitive game, encountering a cheater will definitely put players off. Some players even ruin their own games to block hackers from winning.
Mediatonic has acknowledged the issue with cheating in the game and promised a fix a while back. Today, players received the long-awaited update from the game's social media account that stated, "We're really sorry about the cheating problem! We're expanding the current detection system this week to improve things We also have a BIG update in the next couple of weeks that adds the same anti-cheat used by games such as Fortnite."
Fortnite, being a popular competitive battle royale game, consistently sees hackers and cheaters ruining the game. Fortnite currently uses anti-cheat tools likes Easy Anti-Cheat and BattlEye to issue a ban on players detected to be using cheats. The dual anti-cheat system in the game has resulted in a decrease in the number of Fortnite hackers. Now, if Fall Guys uses the same anti-cheat tool, it could show promising results when dealing with cheaters.
The anti-cheat update for Fall Guys is said to roll out in the next few weeks and it seems that the patch will be bundled with the Season 2 update. Fall Guys Season 2 is expected to launch in early October, introducing new mini-games, costumes, and a brand-new Battle Pass.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently available on PC and PS4.
