Are you excited to play Far Cry 6? Have you preordered the game already? If so, there is another reason to be excited about the upcoming game and this is something that has never been done before.
Just recently, Ubisoft has confirmed that developers will implement the third-person view in some parts of the campaign.
Since its inception, Far Cry has always been played in a first-person perspective when running through the story. Thus, putting you in a third-person perspective may improve your gameplay experience or show you angles you couldn't before.
Why Third-Person Perspective is Added
Navid Khavari, narrative director of the game, said that there are a few reasons why they’ve decided to add new shifts and perspectives in the upcoming title.
The main reason why they’re incorporating the third-person view is so that they could better highlight the main character, Dani. This not only means that you can get to see the character’s appearance and customizations but also show that Dani is in fact a part of the world you're exploring.
According to Khavari, the devs have tried adding the third-person perspective in some cinematics before and they’ve said that it just feels natural and seamless.
“It instantly felt like there was more of a connection to Dani’s journey in the world, more of a connection to this epic story in Yara,” he added.
Khavari also mentioned that you can see Dani in all of the character’s glory, especially if you are in guerilla camps. This means that you can see everything, such as their clothing, backpack, and weapons.
The inclusion of the third-person perspective will allow players to connect to the main character even more. Sure, you might see things better in first-person but just think about the possibilities if you can clearly see Dani fight off Anton “El Presidente” Castillo’s troops.
It is also worth noting that players can get the aid of two allies, Chorizo and Guapo. Just imagine seeing Guapo as it gnaws at enemies it comes across.
