Vin Diesel and his family are going back to work as Fast and Furious 8 buzz has begun ramping up. Reports of Second Unit shooting in Cleveland surfaced last month. What's more, additional two new faces are joining the cast as well: Charlize Theron, who played a badass Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, and Kristofer Hivju, who plays wildling Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones. Now, reports have added another new name to the franchise: Scott Eastwood.
Scott Eastwood, son of legendary actor/director Clint Eastwood, is at the cusp of superstardom as not only will he appear in Suicide Squad, but he joins the big global blockbuster in a yet-to-be-announced role. Speculators suggest Theron will play as the main villain in the upcoming film while Hivju will play as one of her henchmen. If we had to guess, it wouldn't be too far a stretch to assume Eastwood could fight alongside Dominic Toretto and fill the hole that the late Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner left behind.
Via ScreenRant, Fast and Furious 8 will begin filming in Cleveland to double for some of the scenes in New York City. Principal photography in NYC is expected to begin in May. Other notable locations for the new Fast and Furious films will also include Cuba and Iceland.
Director F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton and The Italian Job) takes the helm of Fast and Furious 8, which is expected to arrive in theaters April 17. Fast 8 will be followed by 9 and 10 to close out the franchise with a final trilogy.
