Looks like Fast and Furious 8 wrapped up its filming in Cuba and are now taking its production to its next exotic location: Cleveland. Wait what? Of course, the Fast 8 story will take Toretto and his crew to New York City. However, Cleveland has become a popular destination thanks to select locales that are used as doubles for scenes in New York.
According to reports via Cleveland.com, filming began on Wednesday, May 18, and will involve closures of Superior Ave., East 9th Street, Rockwell Ave., and Theresa Court. What's more, a stunt has been filmed at the Halle garage located in downtown. Stunt drivers have been caught rehearsing stunts at Euclid Square Mall over the week as well.
For readers out in Cleveland that are hoping to catch a glimpse of Vin Diesel or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, we regret to inform you that you won't find the stars there. The stunts will be shot by the Second Unit, while the first unit, which includes the main actors and director, will most likely work on action sequences shot in New York.
That said, there's still plenty to take home from the set leaks. A number of spy photos of the set were shot and shared on social media, courtesy of Fast and Furious Fan and Forty-Six Motoring LLC on Facebook.
The photos primarily give us an idea of what sort of cars will star in the movie. At a glance, the cars include two identical dark blue Subaru BRZ with Rocket Bunny Kits, two identical silver Mercedes-Benz AMG GT coupe with a dark gray racing stripe, a Dodge Viper, a Rally Fighter, a classic split-window Chevy Corvette Stingray, a '71 Plymouth, Bentley Continental GT Coupe with custom paint and a massive International pickup truck that most likely belongs to one Agent Hobbs.
Last but not least, we see a glimpse of what looks to be the Fast and Furious 8 hero car that will be driven by Dom Toretto: a blacked out Dodge Charger with a completely modified body that is very similar to renowned Gymkhana superstar Ken Block's rad "Hoonicorn" Mustang.
