Fear the Walking Dead season 2 will premiere on AMC on April 11. The last time we saw the Fear the Walking Dead characters they made it to a safe house by the water. Unfortunately, two of the group members didn’t make it to the second season. Daniel’s wife Griselda died after sustaining a leg injury. Travis’ ex-wife Liza was bitten by a walker and knew she had to die. Travis had to shoot Liza with his son Chris nearby.

Chris and Travis’ relationship was strained enough before the walker apocalypse started; it’s probably not going to get any better in Fear the Walking Dead season 2 . Travis’ girlfriend Madison was ready to kill Liza for him and take the hit with Chris, but Travis wouldn’t let her go through with it.

Now, the only option the family has to survive is to get on a boat away from civilization. Being in close quarters will force the families to confront their issues. Fear the Walking Dead showrunner Dave Erickson spoke to The Hollywood Reporter back in October 2015 about what’s to come for show’s second season.

“There may be a time jump but it's not going to be terribly dramatic,” Erickson told The Hollywood Reporter. “There's too much emotional weight coming off of the finale and the loss of Liza and Griselda. We didn't want to jump too far because there's an obligation to see the aftermath of that and see how that impacts our characters as they try to wrestle with it. It's going to be interesting to see how does Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) look at his father? How does Travis look at his son? How can they reconcile what happened and what Liza said had to happen and continue to love each other.”

Erickson added, “That will be a challenge. This tragedy, in some strange ways, has reaffirmed this connection between Madison (Kim Dickens) and Travis and that will carry on as well. Ofelia has realized that her father was a monster and, in some respects, the loss of Griselda is almost the sins of her father. They're looking at each other differently as well. Those are all interesting things to explore and too long of a time jump would make it difficult to explore those properly.”

Getting to know Madison in the show’s second season should be interesting for fans to watch. Madison seems like she’s hiding a dark past; she’s too quick to adapt to the walker apocalypse while Travis is struggling to hold on to his humanity. Madison also let Daniel torture a soldier without thinking twice.
