The Forza Horizon 3 monthly car pack comes a little late this month, but it’s finally here. The FH3 Hoonigan Car Pack is a collaboration with motorsport-lifestyle brand Hoonigan. Obviously, Forza always looks for ways to push variety in every pack they make. And for the latest Hoonigan Car Pack, I think we’re looking at its most diverse collection of vehicles to date.
Hoonigan introduces a devil-may-care approach to customizing cars. The vehicles include Ken Block’s 1965 Ford “Hoonicorn” Mustang, a 1972 Hoonigan Chevrolet "Napalm Nova", 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800, 1992 Hoonigan Mazda RX-7 Twerkstallion and 1991 Hoonigan Rauh-Welt Begriff Porsche 911 Turbo. At the end of the day, owners should build their cars to their vision and ignore the white noise coming from everyone else.
"I'm really excited about the fact that we're releasing a Hoonigan car pack with Forza," said Ken Block. "The fact that fans are going to be able to drive not just my twin-turbo, 1400 hp Hoonicorn RTR V2 that I'm running in Climbkhana, but also my Gymkhana Escort, is awesome. Plus being able to drive BJ's Loki, [Brian] Scotto's 911 and all of the other cars? None of us actually let anyone else drive our cars really, so this is definitely the best chance anyone's going to have to get behind the wheels."
Of the cars in this pack, the Hoonicorn is undoubtedly the most famous, or infamous. Featuring the rad silhouette of a chopped ’65 Mustang, the Hoonicorn features an insane 6.7-liter V8 powerplant that runs on methanol to produce 1400-hp. Yeah, both inside and out, Blocks Hoonicorn Mustang is on a completely different level than anything in the game.
But perhaps my favorite car of all is Hert’s “Twerkstallion” Hoonigan Mazda RX-7. Featuring a clean Japan street style body kit and drift livery, this RX-7 packs a Chevy LS V8 and is always ready to go sideways. While it’s not a Hoonicorn, this RX-7’s widebody, wheels and loud graphics is an attention grabber in its own right.
Another big addition for me is Scotto’s RWB Hoonigan Porsche 911 Turbo. Akira Nakai’s world renowned Rauh-Welt Porsches started in Japan, but Brian Scotto was one of the first to ask the maestro to build on in the States. In its essence, we’re looking a t a classic Porsche Turbo with a widebody. The recipe sounds simple, but the execution is divine.
There are seven cars in total in the Forza Horizon 3 Hoonigan car pack and you can check them out in the trailer video below. Available for free to Xbox Season Pass subscribers, the car pack is also available for standalone purchase at $6.99.
