The latest chapter for the Save the Queen quest series of Final Fantasy 14 Online is finally here. This new content arrives with Patch 5.45, which also brings other changes to the game.
Save the Queen is a multi-part adventure that was first launched back in April 2020. This latest story was written by none other than Yasumi Matsuno, creator of Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy 12. Titled as a "Past to Rest," the fight for the southern front continues especially after the Resistance failed to take back Castrum Lacus Litore.
New Additions
Players who manage to advance in the Save the Queen questline get to have their Resistance Weapons upgraded by two extra tiers. The second upgrade tier, in particular, lets players customize some attributes of their weapons to match their playstyle.
New as well is the 24-player mode Delubrum Reginae. Here, players need to explore the ruins of Queen Gunnhildr's kingdom located under the ancient Bozjan ruins. To enter this new mode, players have to speak to either Mikoto at the Lost Trace or Sjeros over in Gangos. Players are then matched regardless of their job roles. For those who want to enter as an alliance or party, the leader must speak to either of the two NPCs.
The update also brings a little something for Blue Mage. There’s some new blue magic they can learn from enemies along with new job-specific equipment. The biggest change though is that the level cap has been increased to 70.
