Five Nights At Freddy’s: The Freddy Files was first given a plot description last week, and the book’s U.K. promotional page spills even more details. Contrary to our original assumptions, this guide may delve deeper into secrets and teases than we originally expected.
The full description can be read in its entirety below.
In this first-ever official guide to the bestselling horror video game Five Nights at Freddy's, fans and gamers alike can immerse themselves in the characters, locations gameplay etc. and try to uncover the secrets and unlock the mysteries kept so hidden within the game itself. Authorized by Scott Cawthon, creator of the game, this book will also give you never before seen information and facts as well as a sneak peek at what comes next for Freddy's. Five Nights at Freddy's: Official Guide will dive deep into the world of Freddy's, giving fans a chance to uncover the mysteries of the disappearances that have taken place. Readers can delve into the story with this heavily designed book full of police reports, local newspaper articles, found objects and more, complete with hidden clues to discover along the way.
While some of the phrasing is identical to the U.S. ad, there are some major changes worth pointing out. First on the agenda is mention of a “sneak peek at what comes next for Freddy’s.” We’re not sure if this relates to a game, film or novel, but we’re excited to find out. Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location went a long way towards solving the game series’ lore in October, but are there more revelations to be found? It’s possible.
In addition to that, we’ve also learned The Freddy Files will focus on artifacts like newspaper articles, police reports and objects that contain clues to the story. In the first game, newspapers were key to early discussions about the Bite Of ‘87, and that’s one facet of the narrative that remains unclear. Who was the victim and perpetrator of the bite? Was it preceded by the Bite Of ‘83? How might the Purple Guy have influenced the events? Maybe additional clippings will fill in those gaps.
The rest of the words essentially recap what we already know. The emphasis on lore is new, but there will also be guides with full animatronic movement maps and other gameplay tips as well. Postured as a companion to the games, The Freddy Files will arrive after the proper Five Nights At Freddy’s: The Twisted Ones novel in June.
Five Nights At Freddy’s: The Freddy Files is planned for Kindle and paperback release on Aug. 29 in the U.S.
