Scott Cawthon, the creator of one of the best horror game franchises, Five Nights at Freddy's, has revealed in an official Reddit post that he will bring several Five Nights at Freddy’s community fanmade spinoff universes to reality. Some of these community games include Five Nights at Candy’s 4, The Joy of Creation: Ignited Collection, Popgoes Evergreen, One Night at Flumpty’s 3, and finally a remake of the original Five Nights at Freddy's game.
Cawthon stated that his support of these fan games is a project designed to invest in certain creators by helping developers and bringing in more members for their communities. Scott also declared that he will stay out of the developers' way so that games can be played as the creators intend. You can grab these games on GameJolt for free once they have been released.
“The difference now is that they’ll also be bundled up with other games from the same series, such as the classic versions, or remakes, or minigames, and sold on most major consoles and mobile as well,” Cawthon stated in his Reddit post. “Did I mention there may be some toys and other merchandise of these fangames too?” This statement suggested some of the games will finally get exclusive merchandise.
Most of the older games will have to be remade either in part or remade entirely due to copyright issues. Some games will be remade completely with new character designs, new sound design, and new artwork.
So, what are your thoughts on the remake of the original Five Nights at Freddy's game? Do you think FNAF will live up to the hype and the other games will bring more players to the community? Personally, I think the idea will help bring more content and developers, which will make games more fun to play. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
