Epic Games' latest collaboration for its battle royale game "Fortnite" brings giant monsters from the world of Godzilla.
This comes as the latest addition to "Fortnite's" massive list of collaborations that bring characters from other brands into the battle royale world. Others include Luke Skywalker from the "Star Wars" series and even virtual idol Hatsune Miku, who was added recently.
Fortnite x Godzilla Collaboration
The most recent update, which was late last week, added skins inspired by "Godzilla vs. Kong" and "The New Empire." Beyond that, Godzilla himself also makes an appearance in the game as a massive creature.
Sometimes, a gigantic portal will open up somewhere on the island in "Fortnite." The first player who runs through will be transformed into Godzilla and will be able to lay siege to their enemies, wherever they may be.
Players who are not Godzilla can keep shooting at the colossal kaiju to try and deplete its health bar. They will get various rewards if they end up doing the most damage to the massive creature, according to Gizmodo.
The one who does transform into Godzilla, on the other hand, can keep on stomping and attacking whatever they can see throughout the map. They will be able to leave a trail of destruction in their wake alongside dead players.
The thing that fans love about the latest collaboration is that they are having fun, whether they are Godzilla himself or the ones trying to stop him. While the massive creature moves slowly, he emphasizes strength and absurdity.
A Godzilla-Inspired Skin
The collaboration also gives "Fortnite" players a chance to unlock a Godzilla outfit for their characters through various methods. This reduces the King of the Monsters to a much more manageable human size, Games Radar said.
Another thing to note about the Godzilla portal is that it will not appear in every single battle royale match.
You know that it would not spawn if the first storm circle had already closed in. When it does appear, players will get a notification at the bottom of their screen, and there will be a marker showing the location of the portal.
Players can get the Godzilla Evolved skin by completing a series of quests in Godzilla's separate section of the Hunters battle pass. Epic Games confirmed that "Fortnite" players have until Feb. 21, 2025, to complete these quests.
One important thing to note is that if you want the Godzilla Evolved skin, you must have paid for the current Hunters battle pass, according to Radio Times.
