Forza Motorsport 6 shared an awesome trailer for its new NASCAR Expansion Pack on Tuesday. As the captions stated, the latest DLC finally brings "America's most popular motorsport" to "the best selling racing franchise." While the expansion is available at the steep price of $20, Turn 10 Studios has also released a free DLC for the month of May. And it's a big one: 1.45 GB of content.
The latest free Forza 6 update delivers six significant updates to the racing gameplay:
First, HUD Proximity Arrows will indicate the position of other cars that are in dangerously close range. For drivers that prefer a cockpit, or bumper POV, the proximity arrows will assist players with their spacial awareness.
Next, really critical elements to NASCAR racing are addressed with new updates to drafting and drivatar. The effects of drafting are amplified and drivitar AI are refined to skillfully navigate tight pack racing around high speed ovals.
Next, Quick Stop is a new race mode that makes pit stops mandatory. Pit stop strategies are a major part of motorsports as the shuffling of the grid will cause unpredictable changes do driver position.
Rolling Starts is another update done to complement the new NASCAR expansion pack. Unlike standing starts, a rolling start also spreads out the grid and somewhat minimizes the risk of first-corner racing incidents.
Not all updates are designed for NASCAR though. A new damage option gives players an option to turn on fuel and tire wear while keeping damages to cosmetic only. For fans of LMP or GT endurance racing, the new damage option is welcome relief from the possibility of a race-ending crash near the end.
Last but not least, endurance racers will finally get to enjoy Le Mans multiplayer.
