Forza Horizon 3 is the only game to earn a 5-star verdict in my video game reviews this year (Uncharted 4: A Thief's End came close!). And if I could, I'd bump Forza to 6-stars just for all the brand-new vehicles we anticipate in its upcoming Car Pack DLCs. In Forza's Motorsport Week In Review newsletter, community manager Brian Ekberg dropped this gem: “We’re adding something in November that we’ve never done before in the Forza Horizon series.”
This isn't the first time Ekberg said something like this – he teased the Forza Motorsport 6 July Car Pack with a similarly worded hing: "I’d love to spill the beans on each of the cars in the pack, but I enjoy my job, so I won’t do that. Instead I’ll say this: Prepare to drive something you’ve never driven before in a Forza game. Ooohhh, the mystery! July 12. Get hyped."
Back in July, we predicted Forza might add a three-wheeler to its car list, but we eventually learned that Ekberg was referring to the adorable 1957 BMW Isetta "Bubble Car," a microcar with a tiny wheelbase and an even narrower rear track. Ultimately, we do get a three-wheeler vehicle with the hilarious Reliant Supervan III in Forza Horizon 3. So what else could we expect from Forza that could be completely brand new to the Horizon franchise? Well, what about motorcycles?
Not only do Motorcycles and ATVs answer Ekberg's latest hint, but the sort of variety in terrain the gorgeous Australian Outback provides makes dirt bikes and quads the perfect addition to Forza Horizon 3. But don't get excited just yet because the motorcycle speculation has one major flaw to consider – the character animation for the motorcyclists and the quad bike riders will require a lot effort to create. Perhaps Forza could be adding a closed-cabin Carver One leaning car instead?
Or maybe the team are thinking bigger and much more whimsical than that:
