Forza Horizon 3 rumors from as early as March are finally confirmed at Microsoft's E3 event on Monday morning. As we expected, the latest installment to the world's most popular racing franchise looks gorgeous. What we didn't expect is the depth that developer Turn 10 has gone to create the new Horizon.
Forza Horizon 3 takes us to the untamed environments of Australia and features a wide range of courses that include lush forests, bare deserts, flooded plains and even dense residential streets. The dev team calls the new map for Forza Horizon 3 the "largest open-world" they have ever put together.
At a glance, the cars include the previously announced Lamborghini Centenario, a wide body Liberty Walk Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K and Koenigsegg One:1. What's more, we also see an Ariel Nomad off-roader, trophy trucks, dune buggies and, finally, a rally-spec Subaru Impreza STI racing a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
The off-roaders are unquestionably the highlight to the latest Forza Horizon 3 trailer as the new extreme terrain elements will no doubt open a new range of play modes. Speaking of play-modes, a new four player campaign co-op.
To complement the new Australia back drop and more versatile co-op play, Forza Horizon 3 also boasts the biggest car roster in the Horizon series. Forza Horizon 3 will be available on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC Sept. 27.
